Profile

I graduated from Nottingham University in 1993 with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry, specialising in cell-to-cell and cell-to-extracellular matrix interactions. I then went on to gain an MSc in Management of Intellectual Property Law at QMW College, London in 1994.

I began my career with a Liverpool based firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, qualifying as a chartered UK patent attorney in 1997, being awarded the Gill Prize for General Excellence in these examinations and qualifying as a European patent attorney the following year. I was made a partner of the firm in 2001 and moved to their Cheltenham office in 2008. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, a Member of the European Patent Institute, an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and a Professional Representative entitled to act before the EUIPO.

I decided to make a life-change in August 2012 and left the partnership I had been with since qualification. I now work successfully as a consultant mainly in the chemical, biochemical and medical device fields. I started working with Serjeants in December 2015.

My two children take up most of my time outside of work but when time allows I enjoy walking, Body Balance and running.
