Serjeants was established as an independent firm in Leicester in 1978. We are proud of our history and strive to retain the principles of the firm’s founding partner, Andrew Serjeant. But we are also a progressive and modern firm and since May 2015 our head office has been based in Leicester’s hi-tech Dock near to the National Space Centre. Our Derby office is located in the iHub Innovation Centre at Infinity Park and in 2018 we proudly celebrated our 40th year in intellectual property. As you will see from the images below, we don’t wear suits in the office – it reflects our up-to-date approach and we find these days that our clients rarely expect it.
In a nutshell, we handle all aspects of intellectual property for our clients. We prepare and file patent, trade mark and design applications and prosecute them to grant/registration. We also help our clients to enforce their valuable IP rights and to defend themselves if they have been accused of infringing some else’s IP rights.
We are a friendly bunch and like to get to know our clients and to understand their businesses and commercial aims. We find that working closely with our clients in this way enables us to give commercially focussed advice to ensure that our clients always obtain the maximum benefit from their intellectual property.
We work with all types of clients (multi-national corporations, SMEs, universities and sole inventors) in pretty much every sector and location that you can think of. However complex or simple the subject matter may be, our approach is always the same: friendly, flexible and professional.
