17 May Jackloc receives Royal seal of excellence
Congratulations to Serjeants’ client, Jackloc, which has been recognised with the most prestigious award in UK business, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.
Jackloc are the creators of the original, award-winning universal window and door cable restrictor, which is designed to improve safety for health authorities, educational institutes and commercial and residential developments. The product is used to limit the distance a window can open, in order to prevent a child or vulnerable person falling out.
Established in Leicestershire in 2003, Jackloc has grown to encompass a full range of high-performance window and door restrictors and is now the leading manufacturer, supplying its British-made cable restrictors to a diverse range of organisations across the world.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have propelled UK businesses onto the world stage with an internationally-renowned symbol of excellence. Awards are presented by Her Majesty The Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister and an Advisory Committee, comprising the Head of the Civil Service and representatives from government, the private sector and the Trade Unions.
Emma Wells, Founder and Director at Jackloc commented:
“We are unbelievably honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. To be recognised by the highest honour in UK business, renowned across the world, is an incredibly proud moment for Jackloc and is the result of our continued commitment to innovation and safety.”
Serjeants has been working with Jackloc for many years and has filed international trade mark applications to protect the name JACKLOC in the EU and in 18 other countries around the world. Most recently we successfully helped the company to cancel a patent that was obtained by a competitor in Turkey, who bought a sample from Jackloc and then claimed it as his own invention! We continue to work with Jackloc to help protect the company’s ongoing designs and innovations and maintain its market leading position, including filing patent applications for developments of the original Jackloc product.
